TECHNOLOGY COMPETENCIES
In March of 1998, the Virginia Department of Education published the Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel. At that time, all divisions were directed to establish an assessment for instructional personnel that would determine technology competency. The Virginia Department of Education further mandated that as of July 1, 2003, passing the division technology competency test would be a requirement for recertification.
If you are a new teacher to Pulaski County Public Schools or need to renew your certificate, you can print a copy of the competency form. If you need additional help on any part of the test, check out the tutorial section of the Educational Technology site. See your building principal for directions on completing the test. On completing the test, make sure that you send the original to Human Resources and make a copy for your records.
