APPLICATION PROCESS

Pulaski County Public Schools

Applications

· You may be considered for employment with Pulaski County Schools only after the appropriate Pulaski County School Division Employment Application form is completed.

· You must complete the entire application and provide all requested information, including all employers (past and present), telephone numbers, dates of employment, reason(s) for leaving, salary information, complete addresses, transcripts, license and letters of reference.

· The Application must be completed even if a resume is attached.  If necessary, the applicant may attach a separate form to list additional work experience.

· You may apply for an unlimited number of positions.  On-line applications are currently on our web page.  Copies of an application form, with an original signature and date, are accepted.


· If a position requires a skills test, the test will be administered as a part of the interview process.  The results of the test will be kept confidential and placed in your application file.  If you refuse to take the skills test, your application will not be processed, and will remain inactive for the position applied for.


· Upon accepting a position with Pulaski County Public Schools you must sign the application form.  Duplicated signatures will not be accepted.


· Past employment history will be verified.

· A state and federal criminal background check will be submitted to the Virginia State Department of Police by the Department of Human Resources or the designee.  Fingerprints will be taken in order to complete this process.  The cost for this is $37.00 and the applicant will need to bring a money order with them at the time of fingerprinting.   Dept. of Social Services also charges a fee of $7.00 for release of information. Please have two money orders. One for Pulaski County Public Schools for $37.00 and one for the Department of Social Services for $7.00.

· All applications must be received in the Human Resource Department by the application deadline date listed on the Personnel Vacancy Announcement.


· Applications returned to the school (or any other location other than the Department of Human Resources) in which employment is being sought, will not be accepted.

· Falsification and/or omission of fact(s) on your Application for Employment may disqualify you from the application process.

Interviews

· Applicants who are selected for interviews will be notified as soon as possible.


· A person with a disability is responsible for informing the individual scheduling the interview of any accommodations needed for the appointment.


· No interview will be scheduled until the application has been completed.


· Notification will be made to all interviewed applicants upon the completion of the hiring process.  Generally, the hiring process takes up to 30 - 45 business days.
