KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

Kindergarten registration for children who will enter Pulaski County Schools in the fall of 2003 has been scheduled in all elementary schools in Pulaski County during March and April of 2003. Parents or guardians need to register their children in the elementary school in their home attendance zone.  The registration process will require approximately one hour.

During the registration, information will be obtained from parents about their child.  Trained professionals will administer a hearing test and vision screening. Assessment of developmental skills will also be conducted during the registration.  The information gathered on each child will enable kindergarten teachers to plan appropriate instructional programs for kindergarten students.  Information will also be given to parents to assist them as they prepare their child to begin school.

All parents who have children who will be five years of age by September 30, 2003, are encouraged to attend registration sessions.

Parents should contact the principal of the school where their child will attend if additional information is needed.

Parents need to bring the following information to the registration session:

  • Birth Certificate

  • Social Security Number

  • Immunization and Health Information

  • Emergency Contact Information (name, address, phone number)
