Dublin Middle School

ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Dublin Middle School is dedicated to providing a quality learning environment to enable our students to become responsible citizens and life-long learners.  Our school is located in the town of Dublin and is one of two middle schools in Pulaski County.  Our enrollment for the 2010 – 2011 school year was 562, serving students in grades six through eight.  We have 38 full time teachers, two guidance counselors, one media specialist, and a number of essential support staff.

Our students excel in academics and “explore” other interests in Family and Consumer Sciences, Art, Informational Technology, and Technology Education.  Students also have the opportunity to participate in our band and choir programs to learn skills as well as performance etiquette and competition preparation.  Our extracurricular activities include football, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, and track.  We have a very active Student Government Association and other clubs such as the Environmental Club and FCCLA.  Teachers sponsor after-school socials throughout the year and participate in student/faculty volleyball and basketball games.

Dublin Middle School was chosen as one of the sites to pilot the I Learn program through Radford University. Our teachers and students were very excited about using the new technology in the classroom and are looking forward to the continued use of the iPod touches.

Our “Positive Referral Program” was implemented this year for students who are consistently making good choices.  These accomplishments are recognized by teachers who send the “referral” to the office.  Parents are called to praise their student and told of how much they and their efforts are appreciated.  During this school year there were 159 students who received a positive referral.  The students are honored at the end of each nine week period with an ice cream social or pizza party.

Faculty and staff at Dublin Middle School have high expectations for student success and are committed to providing the best educational experience possible.
