SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN

Pulaski County High School has chosen to utilize a comprehensive evaluation tool developed by the National Study of School Evaluation (NSSE) collectively known as School Improvement: Focusing on Student Performance. Based on a data-driven and research-based framework, this process consists of six parts. The implementation of each part of the process has been delegated to separate committees consisting of faculty and staff.

1.   Profile – Gathers data on student performance, student/community demographics, and school characteristics. Also gathers reports from other committees and provides finished copies of the yearly School Improvement Plan for distribution.

2.   Beliefs/Missions – Formulates a mission statement that guides the actions within the School Improvement process.

3.  Desired Results for Student Learning – Develops a clear concise list of desired results for student learning (measurable goals that can be evaluated by collectable data).Works with Profile committee to evaluate how students are doing relative to goals.

4.  Effectiveness – Analyzes the instructional and organizational effectiveness of the school.Decides what needs to be established to best support the beliefs and mission of the school.(Develops major initiatives for Action Committee.)

5.  Action – Develops a plan to carry out the initiatives outlined in the effectiveness committee plan.

6.  Implementation – Responsible for implementing the action plan.
