Pulaski County Public Schools and Pulaski County High School proudly announce Tajayah Mashay Shelton as the March Senior of the Month! Tajayah is the daughter of Shaylla Jeffreys of Pulaski.

A Humanities Dual Enrollment student and distinguished Cougar Scholar, Tajayah exemplifies academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and integrity. She engages deeply in her studies, thoughtfully analyzing complex texts and connecting big ideas to modern society with maturity well beyond her years. Her boldness in writing and meaningful contributions to class discussions truly set her apart.

Tajayah is especially gifted in creative writing, where her originality and depth of thought shine. Her competitive drive pushes her to continually grow and achieve at the highest level in everything she does.

Beyond the classroom, Tajayah balances her rigorous academic schedule with a part-time job at Food City in Pulaski, demonstrating responsibility, dedication, and an outstanding work ethic. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, shopping, and of course, fueling her busy schedule with her well-known love for 7 Brew coffee.

After graduation, Tajayah plans to attend Virginia Western Community College, where she will major in Radiology. We are confident she will continue to excel and make a positive impact wherever her journey leads.

Tajayah embodies the very best of what we hope education inspires—empathy, insight, leadership, determination, and kindness. She is a role model for her peers and a most deserving recipient of this honor.
