Pulaski County Public Schools and Pulaski County High School are pleased to announce our April Senior of the Month, Whitney Leann Harless.
Whitney, the daughter of Lisa Harless of Pulaski, is an outstanding example of what it means to be a well-rounded scholar-leader at Pulaski County High School. Whitney consistently demonstrates excellence in academics, leadership, athletics, and service, all while maintaining an impressive level of commitment and drive.
Whitney balances the rigorous curriculum of the Southwest Virginia Governor’s School with a leadership resume that is truly exceptional. She currently serves as President of the PCHS HOSA Chapter and Vice President of the PCHS FFA Chapter, where she has also held leadership roles throughout her high school career. In addition, she serves as Senior Class Vice President, where she is a strong voice for her peers and helps foster school spirit and unity.
Beyond the classroom and leadership roles, Whitney is also a dedicated member of the Lady Cougar Soccer Team and actively contributes to her community through her work with the Pulaski River Turtles. No matter the setting, she leads with confidence, determination, and a strong work ethic.
Whitney is known for setting high standards for herself and those around her. She not only meets expectations but consistently exceeds them, embodying a “big goal” mentality in everything she pursues. Her ability to balance academic excellence with meaningful involvement in extracurricular activities and service truly sets her apart.
In the fall, Whitney plans to attend Virginia Tech, where she will study Biological Sciences with the goal of attending medical school. There is no doubt she will continue to achieve great things and positively impact those around her.
In her very limited free time, Whitney enjoys spending time with family and friends.
