Alumni Spotlight

As a member of the Pulaski County High School Class of 2020, Addie Levy spent much of her time working with the PCHS Drama department and singing with local groups. She also spent part of her time working with younger musicians. Now, married and living a good portion of her time in Nashville, Tennessee, Addie Pratt has reached a major milestone for any musician with the release of her first single.

Her first single, titled “Blue Mountain,” is available on all music streaming platforms. It features Trey Hensley and a host of other players who provide a soulful and enjoyable Bluegrass tune that features her skills on the mandolin, as well as her vocal talents.

During her time at PCHS, Pratt was involved in several productions with the PCHS Players, as well as being involved with the group Gate 10. With a goal of growing as a musician and performer, she learned to play several instruments. She also became an accomplished vocalist. While still living in Pulaski County, Addie was regularly found working and at times performing at the Rock House Marina/Mountain 2 Island. She was a part of the Homecoming Court, and played in the annual Powder Puff football game also.

Last year, Addie appeared on national television as a part of the Dolly Parton Christmas special, Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas, which was broadcast on NBC during prime time. She has been a regular in Dollywood, appearing at the Dollywood DreamMore Resort there, as well as performing at many other locations throughout Dollywood and the surrounding area. She has also been performing regularly in Nashville, where she has further refined her stage presence.

Recently, she submitted an entry for the 2023 Blue Ridge Jamboree: On the Rise, which is a celebration of and showcase for young musicians. That event will take place November 2, at the Jefferson Center in Roanoke. She has also worked with young Appalachian musicians in the Birthplace of Country Music in Bristol. She has also recently played at the Bijou Theatre in Knoxville, Tennesse, at the Galax Old Time Fiddler’s Convention, and in Colorado at the Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre.

Congratulations to Addie, and thank you for representing Pulaski County in a positive light.
