Students looking to attend college after high school have another incredible opportunity to do so now, thanks to a program introduced recently by Radford University President Bret Danilowicz.

“To offer Virginians better access to higher education, Radford University is introducing the Radford Tuition Promise, a program which provides Virginia residents with a clear and straightforward commitment to affordable undergraduate education,” President Danilowicz stated. “With the Radford Tuition Promise, we will guarantee that tuition costs will be covered for Virginia residents with an household Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $100,000 or less. Additional requirements can be viewed at radford.edu/promise. The promise applies to in-person students at all Radford University locations.”

Danilowicz went on to state that both new and returning students to Radford University would have access to the program beginning in the Fall of 2024.

“This is yet another example of how students come first at Radford University and our commitment to removing barriers,” he said. “The Radford Tuition Promise has the potential to affect approximately half of undergraduate students who file a FAFSA, as well as significant numbers of prospective students. This will make a difference for families and students with the most need, but also those from middle-class households across Virginia. Radford University is already an affordable institution and it is also a high-quality institution. Students will now have better access than ever to a four-year degree that will accelerate the path to their careers.”

“The Radford Tuition Promise is partially funded from generous financial aid investments appropriated to Radford University by the Commonwealth of Virginia earlier this year,” Danilowicz said. “Our lawmakers in Richmond recognize the investment that higher education represents, and we are appreciative of this aid.”

“Radford University's new Radford Tuition Promise provides students and families with a great opportunity to receive a post-secondary education at a phenomenal institution,” Pulaski County Superintendent of Schools Robert Graham said. “We are certainly grateful for the work that President Danilowicz and his staff put into bringing this initiative to Radford University. We are excited for students and families in the Pulaski County Public School community who will take advantage of this wonderful offer.”
“As a Radford Alumnus (00), RU Athletic Foundation Board Member and RU Admissions Volunteer, I am so delighted to see more Pulaski County students and more Virginians enjoy greater access to a world-class education through RU’s exceptional Tuition Promise program”, stated Jonathan D. Sweet, County Administrator.  “This greater access to the degree offerings at Radford University is a game-changer for the future of higher education and the workforce of the Commonwealth, and I encourage the students of Pulaski County and the New River Valley to take advantage of RU’s Tuition Promise and all Radford University has to offer.”
Radford University also recently announced their new Direct Admission offer for new freshmen and transfer students, offering even more ways for Virginia students to benefit for a Radford University education.

To qualify for the Radford Tuition Promise, students must have in-state Virginia residency; a household adjusted gross income (Agi) or $100,000 or less according to their 2022 federal income tax return; a Student Aid Index (SAI) of less than $15,000 according to their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); and attend as a full-time, in-person undergraduate student.
