Important Information for Parents/Guardians!

Our schools are implementing the Botvin LifeSkills Training curriculum, a research-validated program focused on substance abuse and violence prevention. We believe this curriculum offers students valuable skills and information. This program will be implemented for students in 3 rd -10 th grades.

Here’s what you need to know:

Opt-Out Right: You have the right to opt your student out of the Botvin LifeSkills Training curriculum. If you choose to opt out, your child will be given an alternative activity. Opt-out forms will be distributed by your child’s teacher.

Material Review: The curriculum includes a pre/post-questionnaire to assess student knowledge and program effectiveness. You have the right to review the curriculum and questionnaires before they are given to your student.

Review Period: The materials are available for review at the Pulaski County School Board during regular school hours from 10/6/25 to 11/6/25. This 30-day period is in compliance with school policy.
