In a Special Called Meeting of the Pulaski County School Board Monday, Feb. 21, the board voted to approve a motion to accept the bid for the Pulaski County Public Schools HVAC Improvements and Window Replacement Project.

The project will involve work at four different schools in the county. The first will be at Dublin Elementary School. This project consists of installing air conditioning in the existing gym, cafeteria, kitchen and guidance offices. The existing windows of the original portions of the building will also be replaced.

Work at Pulaski County High School will involve installing air conditioning the existing gym and the existing art rooms.

Work at Critzer Elementary School will consist of replacing the rooftop unit at the cafeteria.

The work at Snowville Elementary School will involve replacing the rooftop unit at the cafeteria.

The motion passed Monday was to award the bid to G&H Contracting, Inc, for the lump sum price of $3,094,000.00.  The money to pay for this project are being funded by means of a grant provided to Pulaski County Public Schools from the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER II) pursuant to the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 Public Law 116-260, enacted on December 27, 2020 (CRRSA). The bidder will be required to comply with all federal requirements relating to use of ESSER II funding, including but not limited to payment of local prevailing wages in accordance with the Davis-Bacon Act, as amended (40 U.S.C. 3141-3148).

Work on the project is expected to begin immediately after school ends for the 2021-22 school year, with completion as soon as possible.
