Mrs. Lauren David

As Pulaski County Public Schools joins the rest of the nation in celebrating National School Counseling Week, one area counselor has been selected and recognized by three state groups as being exceptional.

Lauren David, a School Counselor at Dublin Elementary School, was one of only eight School Counselors in the Commonwealth to be recognized by the Virginia Department of Education, the Virginia Alliance for School Counseling, and the Virginia School Counselor Association.

"Mrs. David is the heart of DES," DES Principal Dr. Elizabeth Webb said. "She takes care of all of us with such compassion and empathy, and we are so lucky to have her.  She is very deserving of this recognition!"

During National School Counseling Week, school systems focus the attention of the unique contributions of school counselors throughout the nation. Website and social media posts recognize and celebrate the many School Counselors who help students in many ways.

Mrs. David was surprised by the announcement when she was presented a certificate and a care package of School Counseling goodies and a few small treats from the three groups. Dublin Elementary School Principal Dr. Elizabeth Webb presented the awards to Mrs. David earlier this week.
