The latest batch of Virginia High School League power points doesn’t show much movement, but things could still see a little shaking up in the final week or regular season football.

Magna Vista holds on to the top spot with a 9-0 record and 27.77 rating. The Warriors will hit the road to take on the 2-7 Mecklenburg County Phoenix this week.

William Byrd is in second place with their 8-1 record and 26.55 rating. The Terriers will travel to Roanoke to take on the Northside Vikings this week.

The Lord Botetourt Cavaliers moved up to the third spot this week. They have a 7-2 record and 25.11 rating. The Cavaliers will travel to Franklin County this week.

Christiansburg falls to the fourth spot this week after their loss to Salem. The Blue Demons lost their quarterback for the season and are making adjustments. They’ll enjoy a bye week this week and look to heal up a few bumps and bruises.

Abingdon is in the fifth spot with a record of 5-4 and a rating of 21.44. The Falcons will travel to Lee County this week.

Bassett High School is sixth with a record of 5-5 and a 19.90 rating. The Bengals will go to Martinsville this week and likely earn their sixth win.

The Pulaski County Cougars are in seventh place with a record of 3-6 and a 19.11 rating. Strength of schedule has been key for the Cougars. They’ll host Cave Spring this week to wrap up the regular season.

Those same Cave Spring Knights are one of two teams in the eighth spot with a record of 3-6 and an 18.22 rating. The Knights could possibly still make the playoffs with a loss against the Cougars, but they’ll be giving their best efforts to get a win and lock it in.

The Knights are tied with Staunton River, with an identical 3-6 record and 18.22 rating. The Golden Eagles will host the 5-4 William Fleming Colonels this week.

The bottom of the ratings finds Carroll County (2-7, 17.22), and Northside (2-7, 16.55). While their chances to get into the playoffs are slim, there is still a chance. Hidden Valley (1-8, 15.44) and Tunstall (1-8, 14.00) have both been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.
