The All-River Ridge District teams were announced for several sports Tuesday, and 22 Pulaski County athletes were listed for the baseball, softball, and mens and womens soccer teams.
The Cougars recorded two first-team selections, nine second-team selections, and 11 honorable mentions overall.
The Lady Cougar softball team ended their regular season with an overall record of 12-10 and a River Ridge District record of 6-6. They will open up the Class 3, Region D playoffs Friday at Tunstall.
While no Pulaski County players were selected to the first-team, five were named to the second unit and three received honorable mentions.
Juniors Sophia Hall (pitcher), Addison Puckett (1st base), Victoria Hale (shortstop), and Sara Ritter (DP/utility) were joined by senior Morgan Vest (outfield) on the second team.
Juniors Emma Nester (2nd base) and Addison Dean (catcher) were joined by senior Madolyn Legg (outfield) as honorable mentions.
The Cougar baseball team ended the regular season with an overall record of 11-9 and a district record of 5-7. They will open the Region playoffs Thursday at William Byrd.
Two Cougar players were selected for the first-team. Senior Andrew Newberry was listed as the third baseman and senior Chase Lawrence was listed as an outfielder.
Sophomore Boone Blevins was the lone Cougar listed on the second team. He was selected as a designated hitter.
Seniors Zach Dalton (catcher) and Johnny Anderson (pitcher) were selected as honorable mentions.
The Cougar soccer team finished the season with an overall record of 2-13 and a district record of 1-10. They will not advance to the playoffs this year.
While no Cougars were listed on the first-team, two were listed on the second. Junior Sammy Carrasco was listed as a forward. Sophomore Mason Covey was listed as a midfielder.
Junior Kasch Morrell (goalkeeper) and senior Zeke Wilson (defense) were listed as honorable mentions.
The Lady Cougar soccer team finished the season with an overall record of 0-16 and a district record of 0-12. They will not advance to the playoffs.
While no players were selected for the first unit, junior Leona Reed was selected as a second-team forward.
Freshman Jagger Davis, sophomore Palyn Sweet, and seniors Sophia Hanson and Reese Nolan were all selected as honorable mentions.
