September 8, 2025 – Roanoke, VA

It was a night full of Cougar pride as both the JV and Varsity Lady Cougar volleyball teams swept the William Fleming Colonels on their home court in Roanoke. JV set the tone with a quick 2–0 win, and Varsity followed up with a commanding 3–0 victory to complete the sweep.

The JV squad came out strong and never looked back. “Our JV girls got off to a quick lead and never let up against the Colonels,” said head coach Duane Minnick. “They continue to put in the hard work in the gym, and it’s paying off. Staying undefeated at 4-0 is a testament to their effort and focus.”

Varsity kept the energy rolling, showcasing a dominant offense and strong all-around play. Setter Lylah Minnick controlled the pace with 21 assists, 7 kills, and an ace. Bailey Viars sparked the Cougars with 5 aces and 3 digs, while Charizma Jones tallied 7 kills, 4 aces, and 3 digs. Ellie MacDonald added 5 kills and 5 aces, with Jagger Davis and Haley Melton each contributing 4 kills.3

“Our varsity girls took the court with confidence and made quick work of the Colonels,” said varsity head coach Madison Webb. “The offense really showed up and executed in every way, and our serve/receive was strong from start to finish. I’m so proud of the way they competed as they move to 3-1 on the season.”

From start to finish, the Lady Cougars played with confidence, energy, and Cougar pride, proving that teamwork and hard work pay off. With both squads earning sweeps, Pulaski County volleyball continues to gain momentum early in the season — and Cougar Nation has plenty to cheer about.
