For most athletes, the transition from high school to college sports marks a time to move on from childhood teammates. But for four brothers from Dublin, the move to the collegiate level was less of a departure and more of a family reunion.
Riley, Anderson, Bay, and Campbell Moore, all former standouts at Pulaski County High School, have spent the last several seasons making history as a quartet of brothers competing for the King University men’s soccer program.
The brothers, sons of Michael and April Moore, have transitioned their competitive "backyard" upbringing into a formidable presence on the pitch for the Tornado.
"All my life I have wanted to play college soccer with my brothers," Bay Moore wrote in his recruiting profile. "Growing up in a scene of competition has taught me that I have to work harder than everyone else."
Each brother brings something different to the table, competition-wise, but each also provide some of the same benefits.
Riley Moore: The Trailblazer
The eldest brother, Riley, set the standard for the family when he arrived at King in 2020. A 2023 graduate, Riley was a consistent force in the midfield, appearing in over 50 matches during his career.
At Pulaski County, Riley was an honorable mention All-Region and second-team All-Conference selection as a junior, tallying eight goals and six assists. At King, he balanced his athletic workload with academic excellence, earning College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors and graduating with a degree in business. In his final season in 2023, he started five matches and netted a goal against Carolina University.
Anderson Moore: The Midfield Anchor
Anderson followed his older brother’s lead, joining the Tornado and quickly becoming a vital part of the rotation. During the 2024 season, Anderson appeared in 15 matches, recording a goal and two assists.
His high school career at Pulaski County was marked by versatility, as he earned first-team All-Region and second-team All-District honors in 2022. Anderson has also maintained the family’s academic reputation, being named to the CSC Academic All-District team and the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll as a Summa Cum Laude student.
Bay Moore: The Defensive Specialist
Bay Moore, a defender and outside midfielder, joined the Tornado after a stellar high school career where he was ranked in the top 10 of his graduating class of 306 students.
On the field, Bay’s impact was felt most significantly in 2024 when he started 12 matches and scored the game-winning goal in a November clash against Southern Wesleyan.
Off the field, his dedication to the Dublin community included regular volunteer work with the Dublin Ruritan Club, proving his commitment to success extends beyond the soccer pitch.
Campbell Moore: The Scoring Threat
The youngest of the four, Campbell ensured the Moore legacy remained strong in Bristol. A second-team All-District selection in high school, Campbell brought a knack for clutch performances to the collegiate level.
In 2024, Campbell appeared in 11 matches, providing the heroics with a match-winning goal against North Greenville on Oct. 12. Like his brothers, he was a three-year member of the National Honor Society and has maintained a near-perfect GPA at King.
A Rare Connection
While many collegiate programs boast pairs of siblings, having four brothers on a roster simultaneously is a rare feat in NCAA Division II athletics. The Moores have often been found occupying the same stretch of turf—Riley and Anderson in the midfield, Bay on the backline, and Campbell pushing forward.
The brothers’ shared journey began in the Virginia Olympic Development Program (ODP), where they each spent multiple seasons representing the state before eventually reuniting in Bristol.
According to King University records, the brothers have not just been participants but leaders. In the 2023-24 academic year, all four were named to the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll, with Anderson, Bay, and Campbell all achieving the highest academic tier of Summa Cum Laude.
As Riley concludes his eligibility and the younger three continue their careers, the Moore brothers have left an indelible mark on both Pulaski County and King University athletics—proving that for this family, the game is always better when played together.
