The Cougar spikers of Pulaski County Middle School traveled to Fort Chiswell on Thursday evening and came away with a 25-14, 25-10 victory over the host Pioneers. The win raised the Cougars’ record to 2-0 on the season.

 

It was PCMS’s Jagger Davis who led the Cougars from behind the service line in game one. Davis turned in a perfect 10-for-10 performance. Ainsley Vaughan was 5-for-6, Bailey Viars 3-for-3, and Ryleigh Dean and Sandy Santos were both 2-for-2. Vaughan had one assist and Viars connected on one hit. Dean also added a hit and a tip for the Cougars. Top passers for the Cougars were Natalie Kinder, Gracie Painter and Viars.

 

In game two, Vaughan went 10-for-10 from behind the service line. Santos finished 5-for-5, and Davis 4-for-4. Vaughan tallied two assists, while Davis and Viars had one hit each. Vaughan, Davis, and Viars were the top passers.

 

Pulaski County also captured the B game victories 21-8 and 15-2.

 

In the first contest, Adalyn Arnold turned in a 5-for-5 performance, while Aundrea Stump was 4-for-5, and Maddie Rinehardt was 2-for-3.


Bethenny King and Isobella Osborne led the Cougars in serving in the second game, both going 6-for-6. Devae Carter was the team’s top passer.

 

The Cougars will host Christiansburg on Tuesday.
