The Pulaski County Middle School volleyball team raised its record to 2-0 recently as the Cougar Spikers downed a visiting Radford squad, 25-12,25-12.
The Cougars jumped out to 17-6 lead before Radford closed the gap slightly in the opening set. Chloe Thompson led the Cougars from the service line, posting a 9-for-10 performance and Lainie Cobbs finished 5-for-6. Riley Shepardson connected on three hits, Thompson added two and Comley Meyer one. Jovi Perdue and Cobbs combined for six assists and one tip. The top passers were Shepardson, Meyer and Perdue.
Perdue led the Cougars from behind the service line in set two, going 8-for-9. Shepardson was 5-for-6, and Meyer and Zaley Manns were both 2-for-2. Riley Shepardson recorded the only hit for the Cougars with Cobbs getting the assist. The top passers were Meyer and Cobbs.
Manns led the Cougars from the service line in the B game, turning in a 7-for-7 performance. Addie Phillips finished 4-for-5, and Abby Bishop and Kara Tabor were both 3-for-3.
McKenzie Robinson recorded two hits, Tabor and Phillips each added one. Vivian Hash and Phillips each had one assist and one tip. The top passers were Manns and Abby Bishop.
