The 2025 volleyball season came to an end on Monday for the PCMS spikers. The Cougars ended their season with a 25-23, 25-5 victory over Floyd on the road.

The match started a little rough for the Cougars as they found themselves behind 5-10, but the girls battled back to tie things up at 14-14. Things would then be tied at 23-23 before the Cougars scored the final two points. The Cougars missed three serves in the opening contest. Lainie Cobbs led the Cougars from behind the service line, going 6-for-6. Vivian Hash finished 4-for-4, Jovi Perdue 4-for-5, and Riley Shepardson and Comley Meyer were both 2-for-2. Chloe Thompson and Kiylee Taylor were both 1-for-2, while Addie Phillips and Abby Bishop were both 1- for-1. Ten players saw action in game one as the Cougars tried to find the right combination, and because there was not a B game on this night. Perdue, Thompson, Shepardson and Hash each tallied one hit for the Cougars as they struggled to get their offense going. Hash and Addie Phillips teamed for three assists. Perdue and Cobbs were the top passers.

In the second contest were nine players saw action, the Cougars were perfect from the serving line. Perdue was 10-for-10 to lead the way. Meyer was 4-for-4, Zaley Manns 5-for-6, Sophia Exconde 3-for-3, and Cobbs and Axton Davis were both 1-for-1. Top passer was Perdue. Meyer and Taylor each had two hits, while Cobbs, Phillips and Exconde each added one. Cobbs had six assists.

The Cougars finish the season 12-4 and will lose three eighth graders from this year’s team.
