PULASKI-The Pulaski County Middle School volleyball team knocked off a visiting
Christiansburg team on Tuesday. The 25-7, 25-6 win pushed the Cougars’ record to 3-0 on the
season.
Lainie Cobbs led the Cougars from behind the service line in the first contest, going 5-for-6.
Zaley Manns finished 5-for-5, while Abby Bishop and Maria Correa were both 4-for-4. PCMS
tallied 15 hits, with Bishop recording six, Manns four, Riley Shepardson three, and
Comley Meyer two. Cobbs and Addie Phillips teamed for 12 assists. The top passer was Meyer.
In the second game, Axton Davis was 11-for-11 from the service line to lead the Cougars.
McKenzie Robinson was 5-for-5, and Shepardson was 3-for-3. Manns led the way with four hits
for the Cougars with Shepardson adding two and Phillips one. Meyer, Bishop and Cobbs were
the top passers.
In the extra games, the Cougars won 25-10 and 25-9. In the first game, Ava Cash was 6-for-7
from the service line, Laila Sigmon was 4-for-4, Vivian Hash finished 4-for-5, Robinson was 3-
for-4, and Quinn Austin was 3-for-3. PCMS had seven hits with Robinson notching three, Hash
two, and Cash and Austin each added one. Hash, Davis, and Ava Thompson teamed for four
assists. The top passers were Robinson and Hash.
Hash led the Cougars from behind the line in the second contest, going 10-for-12, Robinson
was 4-for-4, and Cash 3-for-4. The team recorded just three hits in this game with Raegan
Dean, Austin and Robinson each with one. Thompson and Sigmon were the top passers.
The Cougars will host Floyd on Thursday.
