Earlier this week, we announced that PCHS sophomore Hannah Keefer had been named to the VHSL Class 4, Region D All-Region volleyball squad as an honorable mention. Apparently a few names were inadvertently left off the list of those recognized, including another Pulaski County athlete. Sophomore Jaden Lawson has also been selected as an honorable mention on the All-Region team! Congratulations to both young ladies. If you want to see what they're up to now, come out to the next Lady Cougar basketball scrimmage on Tuesday, Nov. 23 as the Cougars and Lady Cougars tangle with the Northside Vikings at home. Congratulations Jaden!

Welcome home to SSG Joseph Flesher. He and his wife were able to surprise their twin second-graders this morning at Pulaski Elementary School during a special fire drill. SSG Flesher has been away from his family overseas for the past year. We thank him for his service and believe this is a wonderful way to top off a week of recognizing the service and sacrifices of our Veterans. We'll have more photos from this reunion and a short video ready for release soon. Welcome Home SSG Flesher!!

The Pulaski County High School Fine Arts Department presented their annual "Salute to Veterans" Thursday evening at the PCHS Little Theatre. As always, our students were incredible. With songs by the Choral Department, Dramatic Readings by our Theatre Arts Department, and musical numbers by our Concert Band, the event was a fitting tribute to those who have served our nation in the military. Great job to all of those involved!

FFA Members honor Veterans Members of the Pulaski County High School and Giles High School FFA Chapters spent a part of their day Thursday honoring those Veterans who are laid to rest at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. The two Ag teachers and FFA sponsors, Carley Pavan-Ballard of Pulaski and Haylie Thompson of Giles, helped their students place flowers at the foot of each gravestone. Workers and volunteers at the SWVVC were already busy there placing flags on each grave in honor of Veterans Day as well. By the end of the day, the two chapters had placed over 400 flowers at the markers.
